The UnConventional Lawyer VK Lingam That Could Bring Barisan and Mahathir Down

...............You know that if Lingam is prosecuted, he will sing like a canary and this time it will not be just the 'correct, correct, correct' lyrics. 

This time, if he sinks, he will make sure that those whom he had played ball with sink with him too and from the personalities involved, it would not be wrong if some ministers, high court and appellate court judges and corporate figures are implicated. 

This, if allowed to happen, will be so explosive that it will bring down the Barisan Nasional government. 

..................Recently, former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad even engaged Lingam's to represent him in a defamation suit against him filed by opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

The Court of Appeal has struck out opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim’s appeal on a RM100 million defamation suit against former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

Justice Abdul Malik Ishak,who led the three-member panel, allowed counsel, VK Lingam’s application, who appeared for Mahathir, to strike out the appeal on a technicality after a 75-minute break.

The technicality filed through a notice of motion by Lingam and supported by Mahathir’s affidavit centred on Anwar’s counsel having not prepared the memorandum of appeal via the national language, Bahasa Malaysia.

“This is in blatant disregard to provisions under Article 152 of the Federal Constitution read together with Section 8 of the National Language Act and the Interpretation Act or the Rules of the Court of Appeal,” Lingam submitted.##

Senior counsel Karpal Singh's case against Lingam too was dismissed all because Karpal's application was not in the national language.

Reading the tea leaves, VK Lingam is still a force to be reckoned with. 

Coming back to Nazri, the whole of Malaysia knows that he is the court jester in Umno. He looks so dignified with his Lincolns Inn blazer, telling the world that he is an honourable member of Lincolns Inn.

But now PKR has come out with LG Jeyanthi Naidu. To Jayanthi, the Malaysian public salute your courage. Many witnesses like Lingam's brother Thirunama Karasu had to go into hiding and are too afraid to come out to give evidence after the royal commission.

We cannot blame them if there are no guarantees for their safety. We do hope you, however, will stay safe and I am sure PKR's R Sivarasa will know what to do to ensure your safety.

As for the MACC, it is quite clear that you chaps are nothing but a tool used by your political masters Umno to do their bidding.
